Sylvia M. Somerville, (nee Pine) was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and recently moved to Village Creek in Stevensville, Ontario, Canada. Sylvia is married to Ray and they have two children, Jim and Christine.
Sylvia is a member of the Pilot Club of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and the Willoughby Historical Society. Sylvia has travelled extensively throughout Southern Africa and Europe. She worked as a correspondent for the Niagara Falls Review; was Editor for Profile Magazine; Administrator for SporTimes magazine; Owner/Publisher/Photographer for the Chippawa Times and Seagull Publications, Freelance Writer for Scope Magazine.
Sylvia feels volunteering is important. She works on the Canada Day Committee for the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario; was President of the Chippawa Business Association and organized the Summerfest Parades; was President of the Willoughby Historical Society and organized the 40th anniversary celebration; worked counseling youth, for Youth For Christ; and many others.
Sylvia is a published author of: Tribulum; Wind Echoes; Sondela; Dark Sun, Dry Rain; Barns of the Niagara Region. Sylvia is author/ illustrator of Children's books: Elephants Have Hair; A King's Tale; Friends Are Like Rainbows; Gustav Caterpillar's Adventures, and more.
